Live at WREK: Booking Information

How do I get my band on Live@WREK?

Send us a CD

To be considered for Live@WREK please send a recording of your band to:

Live at WREK
WREK 91.1 FM
Georgia Tech Student Radio
350 Ferst Drive NW, Suite 2224
Atlanta, GA 30332-0630

Send us CD's, records (any format and RPM, yes, even 78), or cassette. Send DATs only if you must. Don't send us 8-tracks or MiniDiscs. For best results, put your band's name, your email address, and "LIVE AT WREK" in big block letters directly on the tape or CD, otherwise it might not get to our mailbox.

Be sure to include contact info, but don't send us stuff like bios, press releases, or press photos. We'll listen to the music. We'll get back to you.

You can also get in touch with us by emailing live@wrek.org, but for the love of God don't email us saying "here's my band's website, go there and download some mp3's and listen to them and get back to us." Use the postal service to send us something to listen to instead. And DON'T email us music or any other attached nonsense.

Get to the Station

For those who are playing the show, here are the directions to the studio.

Get to the Station ON TIME

Show up at 8:00PM, with everybody, with your stuff, having eaten. Here's how the schedule should work:

8:00pmBand shows up, starts setting up. Live at WREK folks start setting up production studio equipment.
8:40pmBand mostly done setting up. Live at WREK folks continue setting up studio equipment.
9:20pmBand starts soundchecking. Things go wrong, and are fixed.
9:55pmFive minute break for the band.
10:00pmStart of Live at WREK radio show.
11:00pmEnd of Live at WREK radio show.
11:30pmEverything is broken down and put away. Band van is loaded. CDs are burned.
11:40pmLive at WREK folks are drinking beer at the Local.

If the band doesn't show up at 8:00, then the schedule slides: the band still has to load in and set up. The Live at WREK equipment still must be set up. What gets lost is the soundcheck. If we start the show without a soundcheck, it will start out sounding really bad. So please show up on time. Or else people will think you suck. And you don't, right?
